Ask me what I’m wearing…

Next to the ones you get off a friend, the best hemp socks come from S A T O R I . I wear hemp socks, but I don’t have any S A T O R I socks yet. I just found out about them at the San Francisco Green Festival.

I’m still wearing old-school, undyed, thick, ribbed, 80s-style, scrunch socks! But, they’re hemp. And, at least I can say that by choosing these socks over conventional cotton, I’ve reduced the use of toxic pesticides and chemical fertilizer while conserving energy, land and water. See how at HempTown.

Wearing hemp socks is not enough. We’re still not growing industrial hemp in the US!

I’m going to do more. I’m making my New Year’s Resolution to be a Hemp Aficionado, promoting hemp by making this amazing plant a part of everything I do.

As of January 1st, 2007, I vowe to:

  1. EAT HEMP
I’m going to eat hemp at every meal.
  2. WEAR HEMP
I’m going to wear hemp every day.
  3. BATHE IN HEMP
I’m going to wash and shampoo with hemp every day.
  4. BEAUTIFY WITH HEMP
I’m going to use hemp beauty and body care products every day.
  5. COMMUNICATE WITH HEMP
I’m going to use hemp paper every time I write or print something.
  6. LIVE THE HEMP LIFE
I’m going to make use of hemp in every way I can.
  7. VOTE HEMP
I’m going to work to remove barriers to hemp farming.

Ask me what I’m wearing…

I’m wearing a SwirlSpace t-shirt that I got in San Francisco at a Hemp Industries Association conference, a HempTown sweatshirt with the Ely Hemp Mercantile logo on it that I got on location in Ely, Minnesota, Patagonia hemp jeans that I got at the Patagonia store here in DC, and Ipath sneakers that I got at The Hempest in Boston.

I have a predominantly hemp wardrobe and wear hemp everyday, but it’s not enough. We’re still not growing industrial hemp in the US!

Make a New Year’s Resolution to be a Hemp Aficionado!

November 28, 2006 · Leave a Comment

Promoting industrial hemp and all its terrific uses is an important part of convincing people it’s time to start farming this versitile crop in the US again. With the great work that North Dakota and other agricultural states are doing right now to restore US farmers’ right to grow industrial hemp, 2007 could be the year hemp farming makes a come-back. If so, we could finally see an end to 50 years of the baby-out-with-the-bath-water silliness that has inappropriately classified industrial hemp as a recreational drug.

I want to help make 2007 a great year for hemp, so I’m making my New Year’s Resolution to be a Hemp Aficionado, promoting hemp by making this amazing plant a part of everything I do.

As of January 1st, I vowe to:
